Good afternoon, everyone, I am honored to stand here today as the head girl of this amazing school. This is the last time I will address everyone as a Masiyephambili student. I would like to thank everyone who has taken out time from their busy schedules to be here today to celebrate the wonderful achievements we have witnessed today.
Firstly, I would like to thank Dr M Sibanda, the chairperson of the board and all the board members for making it here today. I want to also thank all the PTA executives for making this day possible, the DSI and SI Imbizo District for gracing the event, the Heads of various schools in Bulawayo for taking time to come and celebrate our achievements and the company directors of all the companies present today for sponsoring the event and all the other honorable guests present.
Secondly, I want to thank our Head, Dr K Phuthi, for her visionary leadership and guidance. She has always been supportive and encouraging of our academic, sporting and extracurricular pursuits and she has fostered a culture of excellence and diversity in our school. She has been my role model since I stepped into this school 6 years ago. Thank you to all our teachers, who frankly speaking made these achievements possible. Thank you to teachers like Mr Mthunzi and Miss B Moyo who would always ensure we are focused and did not slack off. Every time I would fall asleep before doing my homework, I’d fine myself awake at 3am, and even though I cannot think straight at 3am, I would make sure I would do my homework. I will miss hearing ‘Unathi give us the answer’ in every single lesson. Thank you to teachers Like Mr Ndlela and Mrs. J Ncube who make us enjoy and learn to love ‘unlovable’ subjects like physics. I want to thank teachers like Mr Mlotshwa and MaMthi who constantly and consistently encourage us and have faith in us to be the best we possibly can. Thank you to Mrs. Makhosana for being a motherly figure in my life and other students lives. For always cheering us in and in my personal experience, building me to be the confident outspoken person I am today. I wish I could mention all of the teachers but time is not on my side.
Thank you to the ancillary staff fir always keeping our school clean every single day. As they say our minds work best in a clean environment. Thank you to Mr Ncube for bringing most of us to school every day, including today, on time and most importantly safely.
Thirdly if like to thank our parents and guardians, our cheerleaders and our biggest fans. They are the ones who believed in us before we did. Thank you for gracing the event. Unfortunately, my parents could not make it here today but I want to thank them for all their sacrifices into making me the person I am today.
Thank you to the students for always working hard and making the school proud. Thank you to the prize winners for making this event possible.
Lastly and most importantly, I want to thank God for his blessings and mercies and for bringing us all here today safely and in good health.
